• Rewrapping

Damaged wraps can be replaced at the Respighi Drums workshop. Drum sets can rediscover their original splendor, or be completely transformed.

  • Shell cutting

Very deep shells, especially old ones, can be cut in order to make them easier to handle and to change the sound and resonance of the drum shell. This is something that we’re often asked to do to older or vintage drum sets. It goes without saying that this process involves repositioning and adapting the hardware.

  • Refurbishment and rectification of rims.

One of the most frequent repairs is the rectification of rims. It’s a problem with drums and snares caused by imperfections in fabrication and in some cases due to wear and tear. This repair makes it possible to obtain rims that are perfectly coplanar so that the drumhead is properly positioned. The result is clear improvements in terms of general sound and easiness of intonation.

  • Repainting drums

Naturally, it’s possible to repaint individual pieces or entire sets. Generally speaking, this kind of work is carried out for aesthetic reasons. Where an entire drum set is involved, the process is obviously quite complex and involves paint stripping, sanding and then the application of new colors on the shells.
