THE SNARE NON-CATALOGUE
hat you see here is the non-catalogue of some of the snares created by Respighi Drums. As with the complete sets, it’s a non-catalogue. This means it’s not a list of snares you can choose from. It’s a gallery of examples to help inspire your choice. The snares here are unique pieces: they’re handmade, not mass-produced in a factory, so there will never be two exactly the same. Even if you were to choose exactly the same wood, they might look similar, but never identical.
The snare is without doubt the most personal and defining part of every drummer’s set. That’s why I like to propose bespoke solutions: by playing around with varieties of wood and sizes, you get instruments of unique and inimitable character. In this way, every instrument becomes your own instrument; your highly personal signature.
Nevertheless, whatever their characteristics, all Respighi Drums’ handmade snares meet the same standards of quality, reliability, sensitivity and precision. This is their hallmark and has made them the choice of many drummers, regardless of the style of music they play.
Wood essences
The woods used to make a Respighi snare are all those used by luthiers. The choice needs to combine look and sound. Experience makes it possible to obtain the required tone from a snare with a unique design.
Sensitivity
Our particular way of making snare beds, combined with the choice of top-quality wood, makes it possible to create extremely sensitive instruments. These snares are incredibly versatile, suitable for jazz, rock and even classical and so-called art music.
