O
The Hug
IN A WORD (OR TWO)
ith this snare, we set out to create an aesthetic that flowed through a unique combination of woods without ever resorting to standard geometries or symmetry. We achieved it by blending cherry, walnut, bubinga and ebony. And you know what? We carefully cut and positioned each individual stave. We followed the direction of the grain.

NOTES & CURIOSITIES
The ‘hug-set’
It’s no coincidence that the reddish hue of Bubinga set between two strips of ebony forms one single piece. A piece made of the wood of two trees that grow alongside each other in Gabon, on the Atlantic coast of Africa. This snare was an idea a father had for his son. They are both professional drummers, and this particular combination of woods represents that double-bond between them. It’s part of the instrument. Of every note. And always will be.
