Bhut Jolokia
IN ONE WORD (OR TWO)
his set has everything, even if it’s true that when it comes to drum sets, you never really have “everything”. There are two bass drums, two floor toms, two snares, and two toms. That means having two drum sets you can combine as you wish; or a super drum set for when the stage is really big. And what if the appearance is “wild” and showy because of the special way the ash has been treated… And what if who’s playing it is Gianmaria Nicoletta…

CURIOSITA' E NOTE TECNICHE
Wood
Ash is the absolute protagonist of this handmade, acoustic drum set by Respighi Drums. It’s a wood frequently used by luthiers, typically to make the bodies of guitars. Here, its appearance becomes particularly striking due to the flaming process. When artfully applied to the wood, this technique darkens the lighter grain and yields excellent results.
The Sound
Obviously, such a large set can deal with any situation and any genre. Not least because the sound of the 20” kick drum, with the right drumheads, is perfectly able to do the job of a 22” or a 24”. In terms of tone, it has a perfectly uniform and wide-ranging frequency response. The soprano snare provides additional tonal variety.
