Wood
This handmade set is dominated by the warmth of mahogany-like black limba’s yellowish gold hues; colors that turn to brown shot through with greyish-black. As always, it was made using the segmented method, which is an authentic trademark of Respighi’s drums.
The Sound
It’s balanced, with a uniform response throughout the frequency range. The set’s versatility is composed and harmonious. Perhaps the words that best describe the tone of this instrument are those of its owner after having played it live. He wrote to us: “It sounds as if it had been miked up and equalized in a studio! It’s an absolute knockout! Amazing!”.
