Simone Rubino | Concert set
IN A WORD (OR TWO)
his set is the result of a first meeting between Simone Rubino and Respighi Drums in Turin, after we’d supplied him with a couple of small toms for rehearsals that he immediately decided to use live. It was love at first sight, and in a few months the large set you can see below was ready. Our friendship that came about by chance, and it is still going strong today.

NOTES & CURIOSITIES
The support and levitation of the bass drum
To meet Simone’s request, the bass drum was mounted on a hidden, innovative, internal suspension system. This eliminated any points of contact between the drum and the support itself. As a result, the shell vibrates more freely, thus emphasizing the lower frequencies.
